Case Study

A military contractor that supplies electric radar cabinets to the United States Navy required a stainless steel cold plate incorporated into an aluminum chassis. The contractor could not find any one supplier with the capabilities to manufacture the entire assembly. Niagara Thermal designed and optimized three different cold plates to handle the rugged thermal duty, then designed a unique porting arrangement for the liquid connections. NTP also machined all the aluminum components, the chassis walls and board mountings. The aluminum board plates were then thermally bonded to the stainless steel cold plates. The complete assemblies were delivered on time and well below the military budgeted targets.
